With over forty-thousand hours of fictional space travel under his belt as USS Enterprise Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation,  Patrick Stewart is now learning about the very real dangers and complexities of a human mission to Mars.

Stewart is lending his voice to “Journey to Space,” a new large-format movie about the concepts, hardware and people carrying out the next generation missions to make humanity a spacefaring civilization.

“It was a delight to contribute to this exciting film project,” Stewart said in a statement. “Journey to Space’ will let audiences young and old know how surprisingly close we are to sending humans into deep space.” ‘Star Trek’ Enterprise Through the Years
